About Lasater Training

Bringing the skills of the actor and director to the workplace to
improve your business dramatically.

In every survey, the fear of speaking in public ranks first or second. Making a presentation, instructing new employees, showing a new car or house, asking for a raise, explaining a new concept or simply asking a potential customer if she needs help require refined and practiced skills and techniques. A person often fails because he did not know that the way he stood, or used his hands or his voice defeated him before he ever got to explain or present what was in his mind.

The actor performs on a stage before an audience all the time. He knows exactly what he is doing to get the desired results.

Women are often discredited – not for their knowledge and experience, but because their voices are pitched too high thus creating a girlish or strident sound.
Men can often lose their audience because they have no color in their voice. They are boring.

Actors understand that body language, facial expression and vocal tone get their ideas across far more effectively than their words.

Actors understand the steps leading up to a successful presentation by identifying “want”, “projection” “enunciation”, “motivation”, “intention”, “obstacle” and “objective”.

All this and more can be tools for the non-actor, too. Confidence and success come from knowing what you are doing and feeling that power every time you stand in front of an audience. Whether that audience is one or one thousand, the techniques are the same.
